Lebanese Forces Party denounces today's incident at Zahle's entrance

NNA - In an issued statement by the "Lebanese Forces" Party's coordinating branch in Zahle on Sunday, it strongly condemned the random shooting that occurred at the entrance to the city by certain militia elements affiliated to an armed party, in addition to cutting off the road and intimidating citizens.

The statement questioned "where are the security and military forces vis-a-vis these practices," stressing that "such actions are rejected by all means, for they take us back to a page that we thought had been folded forever!"

The statement underlined that "what occurred today is far from the generous hospitality and peaceful ambience that Zahle promotes," and denotes "a huge setback to this model which Zahle adheres to and seeks to generalize and strengthen."

The Party's statement concluded by reiterating its support to the rise of the state, calling for limiting the presence of weapons solely in the hands of the legitimate security forces, and placing the aforementioned incident at the disposal of the security forces and the Lebanese army, while emphasizing that the people of Zahle will not accept any reoccurrence of such practices in their area.
